M.Pharma in Pharmacognosy is a two-year course. This course offers advanced study of biotechnological aspects in the field of Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical industry. Through the course, the students will also study hybridomas, Biotech Pharmaceutical Drugs, macro and microorganisms in Pharmacogenomics and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology products.

M.Pharma in Pharmacognosy will be equipped with knowledge in all areas of the study, from pharmacology to nutrition to social medicine. Some subjects taught to the students are Recent Advances in Pharmacognosy, Animal Cell Culture and Immuno-technology, Evaluation of Drugs, Metabolic Engineering and Molecular Farming, Plant Tissue Culture Techniques, Industrial Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Pharma in Pharmacognosy

1. The interested candidate must have an undergraduate degree that is a minimum of 3 years with at least 50 percent marks in aggregation, from a recognized educational institution.

2. The candidate must have studied any of the following subjects: Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Ayurveda, Applied Sciences, and B.Sc., Management, among others.

3. Work experience is preferred by a few institutions but is not compulsory.

Admission Process

1. Colleges publish admission notices on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.

2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark the cut-off mark.

3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.

4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.

6. Paramedical Admission is done on the basis of both Entrance Exams as well as the basis of Merit. Various Entrance Exams such as UPSEE, GPAT, NEET etc are conducted to enrol students for Paramedical courses.
